To parents with children in the City of Malmö’s preschools
How we continue to keep our preschools free from infection

As of 29 September, a number of guidelines and rules on how to manage COVID-19 at stadiums, restaurants and workplaces will be removed.

But the pandemic is still ongoing, and the Public Health Agency of Sweden’s guidelines for people with symptoms still continue to apply after the 29th of September. Consequently, during the autumn, the City of Malmö’s preschools will retain many routines designed to reduce the risk of the spread of infection.

It is important that you, as a parent or legal guardian, are aware of the rules and routines that apply at your child’s preschool, so that we can all help to keep our preschools free from infectious diseases. Ask the staff at your preschool if you feel unsure about something.

These rules apply to all of the City of Malmö’s preschools

·       Children and adults who are healthy and asymptomatic are welcome to attend or visit preschool. Those who are sick must stay at home.

·       Before your child returns to preschool, he or she must have been asymptomatic for two days.

·       Your child is also welcome to return to preschool when seven days have passed since he or she became sick, provided that your child feels well again and only has mild symptoms left, such as a dry cough or slightly runny nose.

·       If a member of your family contracts COVID-19, everyone in the family must follow the rules and instructions you receive from the healthcare authorities.

·       Make sure that you avoid crowding and congestion when you drop off and collect your child at preschool.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Yours sincerely,

Department of Preschools, City of Malmö
